My name is Jemma 👋 I have been a self-published author since 2021 and have sold over 75,000 copies of my books. Amazon gave me a strong start, but over time it became harder to stand out.
Ad costs rose, competition exploded, and AI generated titles started flooding the marketplace. I did not want to put all my eggs in one basket.
For years I had one thought on repeat: what if someone else could sell my books for me? I knew I was not the only author who loved writing but dreaded the endless grind of self promo and advertising. That thought became Shelf-Made.
We are an indie store for indie authors and indie presses. While we stock some titles from larger independent presses, we avoid the Big 5 and their imprints. Shelf-Made exists to give indie voices a platform and the push they deserve, online and offline.
BookTok is growing every day, and TikTok Shop is here to stay. Our POD programme helps authors get their books into the hands of creators and onto our store. Yes, we can usually source books through Ingram, but they sit among thousands of others with no real push because the margins are small.
By printing your book on demand, we can distribute it more affordably to creators. That leads to the shoppable videos your book needs to be discovered online. It also lets us feature your book in bundles and spend more time on promotions.
It is not just online. Direct sales through book clubs, indie pop ups, and local communities can be just as powerful. Our vision is to grow a network that champions indie books in every space, a community that boosts your visibility everywhere, which in turn can also lift your Amazon and Ingram sales.
What do we get out of this? A share in royalties. We help you, which helps us, and affiliates get paid too. It is an ecosystem where everyone wins, authors, sellers, and readers, and where good books finally get the attention they deserve.
